Aliens: Taste is a short comic book story published by Dark Horse Comics in its self-titled anthology Dark Horse Comics #11, July 1993. The story was written by Edward Martin III and drawn by Mark A. Nelson. It was edited by Randy Stradley and Edward Martin III. It featured a jam cover with an Aliens segment by Arthur Adams.

Taste was reprinted alogngside other Aliens comics in Aliens: Omnibus, Volume 4, published in July 2008. In the Aliens comics line, Taste was published concurrently with Aliens: Colonial Marines (Jan. 1993-July 1994), Aliens: Rogue (April-July 1993), and Aliens: Crusade (July 1993-March 1994). It was followed by Aliens: Backsplash (Aug.-Sept. 1993).

Taste is a short strange story. A giant Alien creature gets an Alien egg hatching throws it on a grill for consumption.

As we’re treated to anonymous monologue on taste, we see an Alien egg hatching only to be caught and thrown onto a grill by a giant Alien creature.

Behind the ScenesEdit

The off-beat Taste was the only story ever written by long-time Dark Horse and Aliens comics editor Edward Martin III, who worked as editor on numerous Aliens stories.

It is also one of the few Aliens stories to show another intelligent extraterrestrial species in the Alien Universe. The other examples being in Aliens: Theory of Alien Propagation, Aliens: Book I, Aliens: Earth War, Aliens: The Alien, Aliens: Reapers, Aliens: Alien, Aliens: Incubation and Aliens: Earth Angel.
