Christopher Samuels was a Weyland-Yutani synthetic who informed Amanda Ripley about the discovery of the Nostromo's flight recording that may reveal the fate of her mother, Ellen Ripley, who disappeared 15 years prior.

History[]

In 2137, 15 years after the Nostromo Incident, Samuels approached Amanda and informs her about the Nostromo's flight recorder that was recently located by a ship named Anesidora and is being held aboard Sevastopol Station, a remote free port space station owned by the Seegson Corporation, in orbit around the gas giant KG348. He offered Amanda a place on the Weyland-Yutani team sent to retrieve it, so that she can have closure regarding the fate of her missing mother, Ellen Ripley. Amanda accepted Samuels' offer and together with Weyland-Yutani executive Nina Taylor, travel to Sevastopol on board the courier ship Torrens, owned by Captain Diane Verlaine. The group arrive at Sevastopol to find the station damaged and communications dead. Ripley, Samuels, and Taylor attempt to spacewalk over to the station to investigate, but their EVA line is severed by debris and the three of them are separated. Samuels and Taylor managed to get aboard the Sevastopol, though Taylor was injured during the separation. Samuels stayed by Taylor's side and requested for help via security camera. Amanda soon came in contact with Samuels' video feed. Relieved to hear from her, Samuels requested Amanda to retrieve medical supplies from the station's medical bay to treat Taylor's injuries. Amanda eventually succeeded in retrieving the medical supplies and reunites with Samuels and Taylor. The three are taken into custody by the station's Marshal, Waits, and his deputy, Ricardo, providing them shelter and protection from the Alien.

After the Alien was disposed of, the situation aboard the station appears back under control until the station's android workforce abruptly starts hunting down and massacring the remaining crew. During this time, Samuels ventured further into the station's core, attempting to interface with the station's controlling AI, APOLLO, in order to cease the slaughter. At one point, Amanda, who was hiding in a vent, witnessed Samuels attempting to reason with a Working Joe before being restrained by the android. Samuels responded by punching his attacker violently to the ground, deactivating it. Amanda soon reunited with Samuels as he was about to interface with APOLLO using the Reformat Chamber, despite Amanda's insistence not to due to it possibly endangering him. As he was interfacing with APOLLO, the AI begin reject him, causing him to overload. Samuels instructed Amanda to disconnect the system manually and continued to guide her to go it in the right order. Though Amanda manage to deactivate the systems, Samuels had been heavily damaged by APOLLO's defensive countermeasures. As Samuels begins to shut down, Amanda laments that he is dying, causing him to feel flattered that she talks like he had an actual life, and thanks her for that. He told Amanda that he managed to open APOLLO's transit, providing a path for her into APOLLO's control chamber. He stated that he wanted Amanda to have closure and shuts down.
