BIOGRAPHY:
Jay Hennick was the constable of a small town in Southwest Texas. Eventually the small town dried up and Hennick became out of a job and a home all at once. He decided to join the Colonial Marines in 2171. At 29 years old, he was the oldest Marine to graduate that year and still finished near top of his class. He attended SOI West, earning the respect and commendations of the ITB instructors there. Classmates nick-named Hennick "Gristle" due to his overuse of the catch phrase "Hard as Gristle", which he would commonly use to describe any difficult task. Hennick was assigned to 2nd Bat., 9th Regt. where he saw combat as a Rifleman during Operation Arcturan Freedom and received the Bronze Star for his heroism. When it was time to re-enlist, Hennick did so without hesitation. The USCM has become his new job, home and family.
