Frost and Hudson vocally objected to the order and Frost was volunteered to carry the ammo.

The combat vest is based on the French armed forces "Cuirass de combat"' and consists of a sandwich of materials moulded to form a rigid shell. The outer layer of the sandwich is a ultra-light titanium alumide alloy to provide structural strength and ablative protection against lasers. Beneath this is a core, consisting of a layer of boron carbide resin bonded to a layer of graphite-composite carbon fibre. Boron carbide is an incredibly hard ceramic designed to shatter a bullet on impact while simultaneously forming a conoid base to absorb its energy. Beneath this, the carbon-fibre layer provides ballistic protection at the point of of penetration by delaminating across a large area, so absorbing more energy. Finally, on the inside of the armour is woven liner made of 1,500 denier venlar fibres. This woven liner dissipates the remainder of the energy by deforming in the area of impact, and is also able to catch any spelling or fragmentation from the first three layers. Since any bullet fragment impact on the armour shell tends to compromise its integrity and ability to provide ballistic protection, it is standard practice to replace any affected section immediately.

[[Weyland Corporation]] is one of the earliest companies to successfully achive terraforming. After setting up a temporary base on a newly discovered solar system, the planetary engineers spend months exhaustively testing the seismic stability, core layer densities and the soundness of the planet's ionosphere, noting weather patterns and pressure fluctuations. If the conditions are favorable in most respects, Weyland employees claim a new territory in the name of the company, and only then begin constructing an Atmosphere Processor to initiate terraforming. The total process can take anywhere from 5 to 20 years depending on conditions.

David told Shaw near the end of Prometheus that there were many ships around. The movie ended with us seeing one of these ships departing, presumably with Shaw and David. David would probably know about the ships because he was able to read the language of the Engineers and find out the locations; He is an android, after all. The ship and Enginner in the 1979 Alien movie might very well be another ship with another pilot close by the SOS received by the Nostromo.

−

In [[Aliens: Colonial Marines]], Hicks was in a cryotube that was alerted to the Weyland Yutani PMCs boading the ship, before he was captured, he sent out a distress call to the USCM and reported the other Marines of the Sulaco were KIA. As he was captured, a PMC operative went in place of Hicks in his cryotube. As his interrogation by Micheal Weyland began, the PMCs retrived the flight recorder data and took him to LV-426. As the PMCs began to experiment with the collected eggs over Fury 161 facehuggers broke out and attacked the PMCs breeding Xenomorphs, which at some point started a fire in the cryogenic compartment causing Ripley, Newt, and the imposter PMC operative to crash land on Fury 161 where the imposter was impaled by the safety support, Ripley no longer had a reason to examine his body for a chestbuster. A few weeks later, a small batallion of Colonial Marines discovered the Sulaco. Once they boarded, they were attacked by the Xenomorphs. During the battle, a PMC operative, which had taken control of the bridge, programmed the Sulaco to autopilot back to the LV-426, in hopes to regroup with the Weyland Yutani science base, Project Origin. Hick's transmission was received by Captain Cruz, who was ordered to investigate. Seventeen weeks after the Hadley's Hope incident, Corporal Christopher Winters boards the Sulaco to search for O'Neal, Keyes, and Bella. After finding Keyes and cutting him loose from the Alien Hive, Winters and Keyes ignore Cruz's orders return to retreat and instead continue Rhino 2-3's previous mission to retrieve the Sulaco flight recorder which proves successful at first until they attempt to return to the Sephora through the unstable umbillical. Keyes then begins to experience immediate chest pains, orders for the others to get back as he pulls out a grenade and procedes to blow himself up as a chestburster explodes from his chest, subsequently destroying the umbillical and costing the life of another marine along with his own. After managing to make it back inside the Sulaco, Winters and O'Neal procede to regroup with Bella and attempt to shut down the weapons system too late as the Sephora's reactors hit critical and cause the ultimate destruction of the ship and soon enough the Sulaco, the three marines forces to battle their way to a Hangar Bay and escape into the Atmosphere of LV-426. The small squad lands on LV-426, Cruz dispatches Winters, Bella, and O'Neal to find a personnel manifest, and to locate a scientist to remove the chestbuster from an impregnated Bella. Unsucessful with their second objective, the chestbuster tears our of Bella's chest. Winters and O'Neal pass through the derelict spacecraft to retrieve a mysterious Marine, captured by Weyland-Yutani's PMCs. Later, they recover the marine reavealing that Hicks is indeed alive, who proceeds to explain how he survived the attack on the Sulaco, and he was awaken because he was the ranking marine on board. After relentless days of torture he stated revealing only minor information that Wey-Yu was bound to discover later, saying as little as possible in order to keep himself alive. Afer being freed he joined Reid as they left for the Drop Pad. After they escaped the area to Hadley's Hope he told of the last FTL that was coming by on the next day to rap the science labs on the colony up and leave. After the battle with the queen they went to Micheal Weyland to interogate him, as O'Neal threatened to shoot him Bishop managed to talk him out of it. But as O'Neal lowered his pistol, Hicks grabbed O'Neals hand and fired at Micheal Bishop in the head killing him. However upon a further look it revealed Micheal Weyland was actually an special imposter anderoid that was sent to act as the real Micheal Weyland, Hicks commented saying, "But when there's only two of you in the room you notice when the other guy ain't breathin'," His fate is left unknown.

+

In [[Aliens: Colonial Marines]], Hicks was in a cryotube that was alerted to the Weyland Yutani PMCs boading the ship, before he was captured, he sent out a distress call to the USCM and reported the other Marines of the Sulaco were KIA. As he was captured, a PMC operative went in place of Hicks in his cryotube. As his interrogation by Micheal Weyland began, the PMCs retrived the flight recorder data and took him to LV-426. As the PMCs began to experiment with the collected eggs over Fury 161 facehuggers broke out and attacked the PMCs breeding Xenomorphs, which at some point started a fire in the cryogenic compartment causing Ripley, Newt, Bishop and the imposter PMC operative to crash land on Fury 161 where the imposter was impaled by the safety support, Ripley no longer had a reason to examine his body for a chestbuster.
