The Spitter is one of the new Xenomorph breed that was encountered by the USS Sephora Marine squad on LV-426.
Appearance & Abilities
The Spitter possesses a large headcrest that somewhat resembles the Queen's headcrest, though it is much smaller. The Spitter also possesses several acid pouches, which resemble yellow pustules located on each side of its cranium. As its name suggests, it is capable of spitting acid at its target from a long distance. There is no knowledge of how the spitter was created. It might have been a xenomorph lurker infected by nuclear radiation poisoning and became a spitter when changing into a soldier ,making melee weapons inadvisable. Spitters can be used as suicide bombers, as they can explode, coating everything around them in a layer of corrosive and deadly acid. They are also capable of coating their claws in acid, which greatly enhances their close range capabilities.
Trivia
- John Mulkey stated the the Spitter's design is a clear nod of the Spitter from Left for Dead 2 and the Dilophosaurus from Jurassic Park.
- In the Tactical Multiplayer Trailer, there are three different types of Xeno Spitters. There is the one in the image above, another one has several more acid pouches on top of its head, and the last one has more acid pouches on the sides and a row of small horns on top of its head.
- In the multiplayer mode of, players can select one of four different head appearances and one of six different body appearances.
